Chenya O’Hara (pronounced “Kenya) is a Chicago-based illustrator with a passion for bringing stories to life through her captivating artwork. A senior Illustration BA student at Columbia College
Chicago, minoring in Fine Arts, Chenya’s expertise lies in digital illustration, comic book/writing, and oil painting. Chenya is a biracial artist who strives to combine her Filipino and white heritage to create meaningful pieces that speak to her diverse background.
Her works are an enchanting blend of fantasy elements that spark the imagination and transport viewers to enchanting realms filled with imagination and wonder. Mixing the whimsical and fantastical with reality, emotion, culture, and experience is at the core of Chenya’s work:
My pieces are an amalgamation of my own fantasies, daydreams and fairytales mashed together with the realities and feelings that I have as a human. When I finish a piece, I want to feel like I’ve made a portal to see through the lens of my imagination.
