Michael Oliveros (they/them/theirs) is a poet and craftsman who is passionate about community building through storytelling. While they hail their family from Ilocos Norte and Bikol, they root themselves in the queer Filipino community of Chicago. Fueled by their desire to contribute to the rich legacy of their communities, they graduated from UIC with a BA in Gender/Women’s Studies and Global Asian Studies. Presently, they work with a diverse set of communities in Chicago, bringing life to stories that center justice and collective care.
