TITA RECOMETA BRADY is a Filipino American artist, born and educated in the Philippines, where she earned a BA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) at the University of Sto. Tomas, Manila. During her college years, she won several Fine Arts awards, including the prestigious Fulbright-Hays Award, (1966-68) which paved the way for her to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she later earned an MFA. She continues to exhibit, and often garners awards, in local galleries and community art leagues, as well as solo exhibits at the Philippine Consulate of Chicago and at the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington, D.C. Currently, she is in “TEN BY TEN,” a group show at The Jackson Junge Gallery, (up till Jan 7, 2024) and is busy working on a 2-woman show at SoNA Contemporary Art that is forthcoming in February 2024.
